We Know Exactly What’s In Things When you’re making things from scratch, you know the exact ingredients and everything that’s been used. Companies confuse us with long ingredient lists and complicated sounding chemical names which honestly have no place in our food or our bodies! By putting only the things we like into our food, we know exactly what we are putting into our mouths. And that’s awesome. We Can Save Time When you really start to get the hang of the recipes you know and love, you can really save time on the whole food thing. Half of the battle is getting organised enough to plan way in advance and buy things in bulk. Once you get used to that, you’ll stop going to the supermarket every single day, and instead you’ll be sure to go just once for your weekly shop. Think of all that time saved in line and when stuck in traffic! You Can Save Money! Probably the biggest advantage of making all your own good is saving money. When you stop to add up all those sandwiches you buy, little cakes from the coffee shop or even fast food, it’s seriously horrific to think how much we actually spend on our snacks. By preparing your meals in advance and taking them out with you to work and other commitments, you’ll spend heaps less and really start to save. It’s not just food, but drinks as well. A lot of us are guilty of constant coffee breaks, but if you pre make drinks you’ll never be caught short. A flask filled with a hot drink is great, but why not opt for something healthier? Smoothies are a really great choice and they’re so simple to make if you have the right equipment! Just choose your favourite fruit and you’re good to go. You Can Track Your Calorie Intake As well as knowing exactly what’s in your food, you’re always going to know how many calories something contains, if you work it out properly. This can be incredibly useful if you’re trying to lose weight or simply live healthier. You can select lower calorie options at the supermarket, and then use scales to work out exactly what is going into your meals, and there are plenty of low-cal recipes online. It’s Just Way Tastier Eating pre-packaged food can be a bit hit or miss, as the quality isn’t always great. Often there are hidden sugars in these types of foods as well. Even when you eat in a restaurant, you find yourself feeling a little silly when you ask for substitutions. If you’re the master chef, there will be no more picking out onions or tomatoes or feeling conscious about adding so many herbs. You’re in control and you can have things exactly the way you like it.]]>
