Some of us end up in a bit of a creative rut, doing the same thing each and every weekend, and we thought it was time to put together a guide that will break the monotony and have you step out of your comfort zone.
If you spend most weekends chasing the rainbow spins promotion at the local pub or sitting around sharing a few beverages at home every weekend, why not try one of these activities?
1. Take your friends for a round of Top Golf
This interactive and fun driving range sort of combines the scorekeeping of bowling with the fun of golf, and you can even enjoy a few ice-cold beverages and some great food while driving the ball down the range or aiming to rack up some points.
Top Golf is located in Oxenford on the Gold Coast and is full for all of the family, but we recommend taking a good group to get the most enjoyment.
2. Test your mental strength and friendships in an Escape Room
One of the newest trends is to take your friends and get locked in a room and having to solve puzzles and riddles and use your best detective skills to get free of the room, often within an allocated timeframe…
This can often be a fun, testing and embarrassing exercise all at the same time, but it certainly beats doing the usual on your weekend
3. Take the friends and family on a Twilight Picnic in one of our cities amazing Parks
The Gold Coast has an abundance of parks, reserves and beachside locations that could be the perfect place to spend your evening enjoying time with those who matter most.
Pack some glow sticks, a soccer ball and your favourite BBQ food and head down to your local park and kick around the ball and enjoy a few nibbles and a tipple.
4. Get on two wheels and see our city like never before, cycling around the Gold Coast
Our city has thousands of kilometres of bicycle paths and some of them running along the most iconic foreshore in Australia, and they are especially fun on those warm summer nights.
A great evening stopping off at your favourite cafe and grabbing something to eat before cycling it off and hitting the streets to see what our city has to offer of an evening.
5. Take yourself to one of our city’s hidden bars and discover your new local.
Many people know that Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise are the places to be for a meal and a few drinks with friends, but what some people don’t know is many of our suburbs have a thriving nightlife scene.
Local favourites like Nobbys, Mermaid Beach, Burleigh and Palm Beach have hundreds of hospitality venues catering to all tastes and interests and are the real hidden gems of the Gold Coast.
