Well, it’s that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with finalists being selected across the country.
Early next month at the Sofitel on Collins Melbourne the judging panel have the incredibly hard job of selecting the 2015 Miss Universe Australia.
Today we are chatting with finalist Nasir Wan from Victoria who is one of the national finalists who will be competing for the 2015 title of Miss Universe Australia and hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jennifer Hawkins, Rachael Finch, Jesinta Campbell and last years winner Tegan Martin.
First of all the all-important introduction tell us a little about yourself…?
Currently I am studying Marketing part-time at Swinburne University and work Full-time as a Receptionist in The Mahogany Room at Crown Casino. I love fashion and would love to work in the Fashion Industry in the Future.
Nasir Congratulations on making it so far in such a coveted competition! We have to ask how has the overall experience been so far …? it’s been a real challenge but have enjoyed every aspect that is involved in the Miss Universe Competition, the experience has been fantastic and I have met some amazing people.
And how are you feelings in the lead up to the finals. ..? nervous but very excited, so much to do, so much to learn in such a small space of time, it’s been a lesson in “time management”
With contestants coming from all over the country and bringing their own individual flare What do you think will set you out from the rest of the finalists competing in the 2015 competition …?
I’m already an individual in my own right, I stand out, I don’t have blonde hair or fair skin, I love who I am and I love being Australian.
What is something people might find interesting about yourself …? My name Nasir is a Muslim boys name and Nasir is also a town on the boarder between Ethiopia and Sudan.
Speaking of a person’s unique flare or style what would you say is your best style or beauty secret …? I’m afraid to say I have no real beauty secrets, I just use plain soap and water on my face....
With Fitness becoming more and more a part of a person’s personal style how would you describe your fitness regime and how it relates to your life …? I’m always active and do a lot of walking outdoors, which I find very refreshing and rewarding especially more so as I have a job that is in air conditioning, so getting out in the fresh air is great.
Who or what inspired you to get involved in the Miss Universe Australia Pageant …? My Family and Friends
What drew you to such a competition ….? I thought it would be a great experience and a once in life time opportunity. .

The Miss Universe Pageant has a long history of associating with charity are there any social causes that are particularly close to your heart that you would like to use the platform of miss universe to advance …? I really have a passion to help those who are less fortunate. The people of Ethiopia, which is my heritage, these people have limited resources available to them and I would love have the opportunity to be more involved with Charities like
