Shania Congratulations on making it so far in such a coveted competition! We have to ask how has the overall experience been so far …? And how are you feelings in the lead up to the finals. ..? Thank you! The experience has been unimaginable. I am forever grateful to get the opportunity to represent my State and hopefully represent my Country. Not only is this just an amazing experience, I have also learnt so much about not only the good that the Miss Universe pageant brings but also through this journey I have discovered so much about myself and have done things that I once thought were unachievable. I have gone beyond limits and found peace within who I am.
With contestants coming from all over the country and bringing their own individual flare. What do you think will set you out from the rest of the finalists competing in the 2015 competition …?
Everyone is so beautiful and unique in their own way. However up until a few months ago I realised I had something special, I possess in a quality that is hard to come by these days. I have the ability to see people through their soul. My definition of beauty is far different to most. I don’t determine what is beautiful by what someone may wear, by how they look or how much money the make. My definition of true beauty is how someone is as a person, how big their heart is, how willing they would be to go out of their way to help someone. Kindness come’s in all shapes and sizes and its people like that, who make the world a better place.
What is something people might find interesting about yourself …?
I am the youngest of three sisters and I am a very family orientated person. My best and favourite memories are with those whom I keep close to my heart.
Speaking of a person’s unique flare or style what would you say is your best style or beauty secret …? I have always been blessed with great skin and since discovering Elucent SkinCare products it has not only made my skin look even more amazing, it also feel’s amazing.
With Fitness becoming more and more a part of a person’s personal style how would you describe your fitness regime and how it relates to your life …?
I believe a healthy way of living shouldn’t just be from diet, it should be a lifestyle. I have always been very cautious at what food I put into my body as my body is my temple, therefore I eat a balanced array of food’s that include protein, fibre, healthy carbohydrates and fresh vegetables whilst also training 4-5 days a week. My fitness regime consists of strength training and cardio.
Who or what inspired you to get involved in the Miss Universe Australia Pageant …? What drew you to such a competition ….?
I have always had an interest in modelling it was always just a matter of when I would begin to pursue it, so when I came across an advertisement asking for applicant’s to apply for the Miss Universe Australia 2015 Pageant I thought I would give it a go. Without actually having any modelling experience the journey so far has cemented my desire to further a career in modelling.
Speaking of inspiration who inspires you most …? I am inspired each and every day in little ways by the people that come in and out of my life.
The Miss Universe Pageant has a long history of associating with charity are there any social causes that are particularly close to your heart that you would like to use the platform of miss universe to advance …? I realise the awareness of mental illness has increased as of late, however I still feel it is misunderstood. Therefore it is vital to get the message across about the importance of educating not only our adult’s but most importantly our future generation on how it is not something you can just get over or move forward from without not only the support and help of family and friends but most importantly society
What is something you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia Pageant …? Confidence and a better understanding of myself. I hope to gain friendships with all the other beautiful strong women around Australia and bring home memories that I could never forget.
