Congratulations on making it so far in the coveted Miss Universe Australia competition tell us a little about yourself …! Who inspires you most ….? My parents for their strong work ethics which I believe they have instilled in me and I am certain I would not be the person I am today without their constant encouragement, love and support. I also draw inspiration from people I meet day to day who have a positive attitude even if they are going through a tough period in their life, it really makes me think to ‘not sweat the small stuff’. What do you do for a living ….? I work at a Real Estate Agency in West Brisbane which I love. No day is the same and I am constantly meeting and dealing with new people every day which is refreshing. Speaking of Work Where is your favourite place to kick up your heals after a hard day of work …? I don’t normally find myself on the ‘clubbing scene’, but every month my girlfriends and I have a ‘Thai night’ where we order Thai food and watch movies, it’s a great way to catch up and unwind. And what does your ideal day of rest and relaxation entail …? Including your favourite chill out music …? I appreciate great food and I love trying new restaurants, my favourite new spot would be the ‘Eat Street Markets’ on Hamilton Wharf in Brisbane, which boasts a relaxed atmosphere and AMAZING international cuisine. I don’t have a specific type of chill out music, I do love listening to Rihanna (not sure if you would call her music ‘relaxing’ but I have seen her live 3 times!) And how would you say your work if at all has prepared you for the Miss Universe Australia Competition…? To be successful in real estate you need to build a vast network of contacts within the market you serve. I have applied the same strategy in building a network of fashion designers, make-up artists, photographers and pageant experts to help me prepare for the pageant. Paying close attention to the details is also important in real estate. So beyond getting myself physically and mentally prepared, I have not lost sight of the broader context of the Miss Universe Australia organisation, its charities of choice and its valuable partnerships with the generous sponsors who make all this possible. What is something people might find interesting about yourself..? I am a Pescatarian (I abstain from all animal meat except fish) I’m an avid pug lover and adopted two rescue pugs and regularly attend pug meet ups at the Gold Coast which raises money to support Queensland Pug Rescue & Rehoming I am the CHRISTMAS QUEEN, it is my absolute favourite time of the year, my Christmas tree is colour co-ordinated (black, silver & white) and the wrapping is no exception! How would you describe your personal Style…? My personal style is constantly evolving, as trends come and go. For street style I love ‘boho chic’ where I will team a simple flowy mini dress with my Isabel Marant ankle boots, and for evening style I love something with a bit of sex appeal, whether it’s a plunging neck line, thigh split dress or a backless top/dress. Talking of style who is your favourite designer or brand …? My ALL TIME favourite evening gown designer is Zuhair Murad and I love ANYTHING Isabel Marant, especially her boots! And what does your beauty & fitness regime consist of …? (ie your best tips and tricks) Now that it is coming into the cooler months I do find that my skin isn’t as moist. I use a dry body brush daily to help exfoliate my skin and moisturise my face with Elucent Whitening Night Moisturisor, which is extremely hydrating while not leaving my skin oily. I try to avoid over exposure to the sun and prefer to spray tan, I love Mediterranean Tan ‘Tan extender’ I apply it once a day or every second day and it helps me maintain that summer glow as winter approaches. My fitness regime consists of exercising 6 days a week: x3 high intensity cardio work outs, 2 resistance training & x1 stretching and flexibility. I am currently training for my first 10km fun Run in July. Where do you see the Miss Universe Journey taking you …? Since watching my first Miss Universe pageant in 2006 it has been my dream & ambition to represent Australia in such a highly regarded & prestigious pageant. I would like to see this journey take me all the way New York City, as Miss Universe 2014. We all have a favourite saying or personal mantra what would you say is yours..? “She believed she could, so she did” And what are the five things in your life you just can’t live without …? Family, Friends, my Pugs, Tim Tams & iPhone of course! ]]>
