What you will need for this cocktail recipe …
There are only three real ingredients needed to make a classic espresso martini
- 50ml of Absolut Vodka or 20ml of Lyre’s Cane Spirit for the Alcohol-Free Version
- 35ml Coffee Liqueur ie Kahlua or Lyres Coffee Originale, for the Alcohol-Free Version
- Shot or ( 25ml 0 of Fresh Espresso left to cool or Cold Brew Coffee
- Cocktail Shaker Full of Ice & Strainer
- Chilled Martini Glass
- Optional 10ml of Simple Syrup, either Caramel or Vanilla, for a little extra sweetness and a few coffee beans for garnish.

Making the perfect Espresso Martini is one of those things everyone has an opinion on, but the truth of the matter is they are easy to make the only real trick is making sure everything is nice and cold, and the coffee you use is of good quality, and that’s about it.
Step 1 – Get to Shaking
So the first step is to fill your cocktail shaker with ice to about three-quarters full and wait thirty seconds for the shaker to cool down; then you should add your Vodka or Alcohol-Free Spirit along with the Coffee Liqueur of your choice and the shot of cooled fresh espresso or cold brew of your choosing and an optional dash of sugar syrup to finish it off.
Now put the lid on and shake vigorously until you can’t shake anymore or you start to notice a nice foam forming.
Step 2 – The Perfect Pour
So to maintain the perfect crema, it is important you have a well-chilled martini glass on standby and the contents of the cocktail have been shaken well, Â and that’s it; you are now ready to pour out the perfect espresso martini just strain and serve.
To garnish, place those three coffee beans on top or add the lightest dusting of cocoa powder if you have any.
