Last night, the Sheraton Mirage became the centre of attention as Supercars and Boost Mobile celebrated the countdown to the 2024 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 (GC500) with a star-studded orange carpet launch event. The gathering saw Repco Supercars Championship drivers James Courtney, Will Davison, Nick Percat, and Aaron Love join forces to usher in the excitement of Queensland’s biggest annual sporting event.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard took the stage to thank the Queensland Government, Experience Gold Coast, and the Gold Coast City Council for their unwavering support. He emphasised the unique allure of the GC500, dubbing it “a party in paradise” that has captivated fans for decades. Boost Mobile CEO Jason Haynes echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the event’s perfect fit for their brand and promising “one hell of a time” for those attending the festivities in late October.

Gold Coast Deputy Mayor Donna Gates praised the event’s positive impact on the local economy, while James Courtney, known for his love of the event, shared how the GC500 atmosphere is unlike any other, with the roar of the crowd even outshining the engines.

The evening wasn’t just about the drivers, though. Some of Gold Coast’s most notable influencers and athletes, including Shontina Rose, Olympic swimmer Meg Harris, and rugby league star Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, brought extra flair to the event, adding a touch of glamour to the already dazzling atmosphere.

Ramping up the anticipation, Shane Howard announced the headlining acts for the October race weekend. Fans can look forward to performances by Bag Raiders, Peking Duck, Spiderbait, The Jets, and Kingswood, ensuring three nights of non-stop action and entertainment that will make this year’s Boost Mobile GC500 one for the books.

As preparations kick off with the track build commencing on September 16, the excitement for the Boost Mobile GC500 is palpable. With more than 200,000 fans expected to flood the coast, this year’s event is set to inject an estimated $55 million into the local economy, reaffirming its status as Queensland’s must-attend sporting spectacle.
