Last night Shell V Power DJR driver Anton De Pasquale has opened the weekend with a comprehensive win, under lights in front of fans at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Anton was the fastest driver in every practice and qualifying session leading into the evening’s race, essentially unstoppable and brings around a third career victory, which was aided by a slow pit stop for rookie Will Brown, who dropped from second and eventually crossed the line fourth behind Erebus Motorsport teammate Brodie Kostecki
“That was good fun; it’s always fun at night,” De Pasquale beamed.
“It was quite a good battle with Will into Turns 1 and 2.
“The cars delivered me an awesome car. It was good to convert this one.
“He was pushing me quite hard in that first one, I was trying to look after my tyres.
“It was a good race.”.
The racing action is currently underway for Sundays two races with the first about to finish shortly, and this is the first weekend of four straight weekends of racing at Sydney Motorsport Park.
