PBR bull riding returns to Beaudesert next month with a two-day event as part of the 2026 PBR Australia Monster Energy Tour.
The Scenic Rim town will host riders on February 27 and 28, marking one of the early stops on a season that includes more than 29 events across the eastern seaboard.
The 2026 season opens in Scone, New South Wales on February 7 before the tour heads to Beaudesert for what organisers are calling a “two-day buck fest”.
PBR Australia Managing Director Glen Young said Queensland riders Zane Hall, Thomas Triplett, Kurt Shephard and Donovan Rutherford are among those to watch this season, alongside New South Wales rider Clint Glass and New Zealand’s Riley Ward.
“With great emerging riders in the mix, Scone and Beaudesert will test who is ready to step up in 2026 when the chutes open,” Mr Young said.
The 2026 season will see more than $1 million in posted prizemoney and bonuses awarded to cowboys across events running through to the second weekend in November.
Beaudesert is one of 10 Queensland stops on the tour, which also includes Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, Toowoomba, Burnett Heads, Bloomsbury, Caboolture and Sandstone Point.
The announcement follows a record-breaking 2025 season. Mareeba’s Kurt Shephard claimed the PBR Australian Championship Golden Buckle and became the first rider in PBR Australia history to surpass $180,000 in season earnings.
Clermont’s Brady Fielder, ranked third in the world in 2025, became the only rider in PBR history to reach 100 qualified rides in a single season.
“With the finale of 2025 season finishing on such a great note and Kurt Shephard breaking not only a PBR Australia but also an Australian Rodeo record in single career earnings in the discipline of bull riding, 2026 is shaping up to be a hotly contested season,” Mr Young said.
The Monster Energy Tour will also return to Melbourne’s John Cain Arena and the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for the first time since 2019, with a debut event in Coffs Harbour scheduled for September.
The PBR Origin Series continues in 2026 with Queensland seeking revenge after New South Wales claimed the title for the first time in 2025. The state versus state battle begins in Newcastle on May 30, followed by Brisbane on June 6 and the finale in Sydney on August 1.
The PBR Bull Riding season concludes in Townsville on November 13 and 14.
