Marriott Brings the Westin Brand to the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast welcomes the Westin brand in 2029, featuring 138 rooms and the signature Heavenly Spa by Westin.

The Gold Coast will soon see a major new addition to its skyline. Opening in late 2029, a 138-room development will officially bring the Westin brand to the city for the first time.

This project brings together several partners. Australian developer M Property is working with Marriott International through a franchise agreement, and La Vie Hotels & Resorts will manage the hotel. The new Surfers Paradise hotel will be located on levels 6 to 25 of a mixed-use building, giving guests wide views of the ocean and the Gold Coast hinterland.

Westin: A Focus on Wellbeing

The new Westin will focus on the brand’s signature wellbeing pillars: Eat Well, Sleep Well, and Move Well. The Gold Coast’s active lifestyle makes it a natural choice for Westin’s next location.

Tristan Cooper, Marriott International’s Director of Hotel Development for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, noted the relationship between the destination and the hotel brand. “The Westin Gold Coast represents a natural fit between brand and location, and we already see healthy performance across our existing Westin portfolio, both in key source markets for the Gold Coast. We are excited to welcome Westin to the Gold Coast and introduce a genuine point of difference to the market,” he said.

Guests will find top facilities for both leisure and business stays. The hotel will have 115 guest rooms and 23 suites. Amenities will include an infinity pool with a pool bar, a signature restaurant and bar, and full conference and meeting spaces. For health and relaxation, guests can use the WestinWORKOUT Fitness studio and the Heavenly Spa by Westin.

Strategic Partnerships

The appointment of La Vie Hotels & Resorts marks a milestone for the independent hotel management platform as it expands across the Asia-Pacific region.

Jerry Xu, Chief Executive Officer of La Vie Hotels & Resorts, conveyed his enthusiasm for the project. “Being appointed to manage Westin Gold Coast is a proud milestone for La Vie Hotels & Resorts and a strong endorsement of the platform we have built across the Asia-Pacific region,” he said.

“We have tremendous respect for the vision that the M Property team have brought to this development, and we are honoured by the trust they have placed in La Vie to bring that vision to life. This landmark signing with Marriott International reflects the quality of the project and the continued growth of La Vie as a leading independent Hotel Management platform. Together with our partners, we look forward to delivering a world-class hotel experience and setting a new benchmark for hospitality on the Gold Coast,” Xu added.

The developers share this optimism. An M Property spokesperson stated: “This signing represents a significant step forward for M Property and reinforces our long-term vision for the Gold Coast as a world-class hospitality destination. Partnering with Marriott International to bring the Westin brand to this market is a milestone we are proud to see come to fruition. Westin’s focus on wellness and an elevated guest experience aligns closely with what we set out to create through this development. We are also pleased to have La Vie Hotels & Resorts appointed as the hotel operator. Their track record, professionalism and genuine understanding of the guest journey make them the right partner for this project, and we look forward to what we will build together.”

Located at 3321 Surfers Paradise Blvd, the Westin Gold Coast will offer convenient transport links and dedicated guest parking steps from the iconic Surfers Paradise beach. The Westin Gold Coast aims to be a central destination for guests looking for a relaxing coastal getaway.
