After five years of trying and close calls and falling agonising close to victory, Bentley has finally won the Bathurst 12 hour.
The storied British brand triumphed in another dramatic, record-breaking Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour at Mount Panorama, breaking not only their drought but literally bringing the rain down as well.
Driven by French drivers Jules Gounon, Maxime Soulet and South African Jordan Pepper the Bentley Team M Sport number seven started the day in pitch black conditions, from the eleventh spot on the grid but out strategised and performed the field to lead a significant portion of the race.
Bentley has become the sixth different winner in six years on the mountain, the second consecutive brand to win the Bathurst 12 hour for the first time and also becoming part of Mount Panorama History.
This years race was also the longest in history, notching up 314 laps to its completion and just short of 2000km and featured the longest period of green flag racing of over four hours.
