Billabong Pro Tahiti, Stop No. 7 on the Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), has been called ON today in building four-to-six foot surf at Teahupo’o. Competition will commence with the remaining heats of Round 3 starting at 12:00 local time followed by Round 4. “It’s great to say that competition is on,” Kieren Perrow, WSL Commissioner said. “We’ve been waiting for this swell – it’s arrived, it’s building and getting better throughout the day. Right now there’s some great tube rides out there and we’re excited. We’ll be starting at 12 o’clock”. First to compete will be Josh Kerr (AUS) and Adrian Buchan (AUS) in Heat 9 of Round 3. Surfline, official forecaster for the World Surf League, are calling for: A new mix of mid to longer period SW swells will build through the day on Monday, peak late and continue Tuesday early morning. Easing surf looks likely by later morning through early afternoon Tuesday. new SSW swell starts to build late in the dat on Tuesday. Short period SE tradeswell will also build Monday and continue Tuesday to give the surf a bit of a mixed up feel at times.
