Brisbane Fashion Festival is set to make its most dazzling return yet as it celebrates a glittering 20-year milestone. From Sunday 24 to Friday 29 August 2025, King George Square and surrounding iconic venues will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of style, culture, and creativity, showcasing Queensland’s premier fashion talent alongside the best in Australian design.

With the backing of Principal Partner Brisbane Economic Development Agency, this year’s festival promises to be the biggest and boldest yet. More than 50 designers will present a total of 550 new-season Spring/Summer looks, spanning beloved Queensland labels, renowned national brands, and fresh emerging talent.

“In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, we are proud to unveil our program for Brisbane Fashion Festival 2025, with a strong line-up of designers and retailers that will no doubt inspire fashion fans to choose local,” said Festival Director Lindsay Bennett.

Fashion with Purpose and Legacy

Since its inception in 2006, Brisbane Fashion Festival has hosted over 600 designers, offering a vital platform for fashion creatives and businesses to connect directly with consumers. That legacy continues this year with a stunning, shop-the-runway experience – where guests can purchase what they see on the catwalk online or in-store.

The program kicks off with a spectacular Resort Show on Sunday 24 August, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the new Kangaroo Point Bridge. Names like Pamela Easton, Camilla, Rebecca Vallance, and Mitchell Ogilvie will debut their latest resort collections in a truly show-stopping open-air runway.

Runway Week Highlights

The festivities heat up at King George Square from Tuesday 26 August. The W BRISBANE Fashion Show will feature an exciting lineup including Gail Sorronda, Silk Laundry, David Jones, Perri Cutten, and many more.

On Wednesday 27 August, the Hancock Prospecting Next Gen Group Show takes centre stage, spotlighting rising stars and emerging designers such as Delvene Cockatoo-Collins, House of Aya, and Clarity by Brooke. A student design competition will open the show, reimagining the iconic Driza-Bone trench coat.

Then on Thursday 28 August, the Designer Group Show presents a special retrospective of 2006 collections from icons like Juli Grbac, Easton Pearson, and George Wu, followed by new-season designs from Sonia Stradiotto Couture, Jotéo, Mannzilo, and others. Ticketholders are then invited to celebrate at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane Official Wrap Party.

Style Beyond the Catwalk

Beyond the runways, the Festival includes a suite of luxe events. The ever-popular Fashion Brunch and Designer Salon Showing returns on Monday 26 August at The Lex, W Hotel, with a spring-themed two-course luncheon presented by QueensPlaza, Wintergarden, and Edward St Brisbane.

That evening, Queensland Ballet and Layla will present an opulent fusion of couture and cuisine, inspired by the ballet’s upcoming production Dangerous Liaisons. Hosted at the elegant Thomas Dixon Centre, this one-night-only event is set to seduce all senses.

For those who love fashion history and intimate storytelling, an exclusive Q&A with design legends Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson at Museum of Brisbane will take guests through their collaborative journey, with highlights from their inaugural 2006 Cruise collection on display.

Another event not to miss is the Luxe Luncheon at Hanworth House on Wednesday 27 August. Supporting Women’s Legal Service Queensland, the lunch will feature fashion-art discussions with Rachel Burke, Sacha Drake, and other creative luminaries, with Alison Kubler as MC.

Fashion with a Cause

The Festival concludes on a powerful note with Dress to Express Day in partnership with Beyond DV, taking place on Friday 29 August. Supporters are encouraged to wear their boldest outfits and walk in solidarity with survivors of domestic and family violence. The event ends with a cocktail party at Hyatt Regency, raising funds for Beyond DV’s recovery programs.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner praised the event’s two-decade impact, stating:

“For 20 years, this festival has brought the best of Australian fashion to Brisbane… helping local designers launch their careers and boosting Brisbane’s profile as a drawcard for the fashion industry globally.”

In an added gesture of goodwill, $1 from every ticket sold will go directly to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, supporting frontline charities assisting vulnerable Brisbane residents.
