Broc Feeney has once again stamped his authority on the 2025 Supercars season, claiming his 14th pole position of the year at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend — and his fifth in a row — in a thrilling Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout.
At just 22, Feeney is proving himself as the man to beat, joining a legendary list of names in the sport’s history as one of only a handful of drivers to secure five consecutive pole positions. That elite group includes Peter Brock, Allan Moffat, Dick Johnson and Scott McLaughlin.
In a hotly contested Shootout that saw just three-tenths of a second separating the top five, Feeney once again emerged as the benchmark. His latest pole puts him and Red Bull Ampol Racing co-driver Jamie Whincup at the front of the grid for Sunday’s 500km race.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Red Bull garage, though. Earlier in the day, Whincup was involved in a crash with the pairing of Will Brown and Scott Pye. Regardless, the #88 entry will line up on pole alongside the MSR Camaro of Cam Hill and Cam McLeod, who pushed Feeney hard during qualifying.
Ford machinery fills positions three to six on the grid. Defending Bathurst 1000 champion Brodie Kostecki will start third after a strong showing in the Shootout. Behind him is Cam Waters in fourth, followed by Tickford teammate Thomas Randle. Matt Payne, who currently sits second in the championship standings, will start sixth in the Mustang he shares with Garth Tander.
Further down the order, Kiwi Ryan Wood had a moment in the Shootout as the only driver to slide off the track. He’ll start Sunday’s race from tenth.
Supercars will return to the track on Sunday morning for a 20-minute Warm Up at 9:30 a.m. local time (10:00 a.m. AEST). The 500km, 102-lap Race 26 of the season will get underway at 1:45 p.m. local time (2:15 p.m. AEST), with Feeney once again leading the field and chasing more history.
