This afternoon Motorsport Australia and Supercars made the tough decision to cancel the Top 10 shootout after heavy rain caused serious safety concerns and left the track conditions unsuitable.

This afternoon Motorsport Australia and Supercars made the tough decision to cancel the Top 10 shootout after heavy rain caused serious safety concerns and left the track conditions unsuitable.

The crowd let out an outpour of disappointment at the announcement; when officials took to announcing the cancellation of the shootout, the standing water was just too much to continue.

This means that the Top 10 for tomorrow’s race will be set from the results in qualifying, except for Shane van Gisbergen who will move back three places after receiving a penalty for contact with Macauley Jones in qualifying.

So tomorrow’s starting positions for the Bathurst 1000 are as follows,
