Wow, it’s been a busy 18 months! Let’s dive in.
Having been on Farmer Wants a Wife last February, that must have been an unusual experience “contending” for someone’s affection. How did you find it?
Farmer Wants a Wife was a great experience — I did it for a bit of fun and really learnt a lot about myself along the way. I met some really great people too. Contending for someone’s affection is certainly a different experience, and having other girls by your side going for the same farmer made it interesting at times! All in all it was great fun and an amazing experience.
Did you find it opened a lot of doors for you?
Yes, I think it did open a lot of doors — though that wasn’t the reason I did the show. A lot of opportunities have come my way since appearing on it, and I’m always up for new and exciting challenges. I’m always willing to give everything my best shot. My current US manager actually found me through Farmer Wants a Wife, so that was definitely a bonus!
You were in the top 20 National Finalists of Miss World Australia 2011 — what was it like to be part of such a great event?
Miss World Australia was a wonderful experience. It wasn’t just a beauty pageant — it was also a charity event, and it was great to give back to the community. I learnt a lot about myself going to the national finals and met some amazing young women who inspired me even more than before. I’m also a National Finalist in Miss Earth Australia this year, with the national final coming up in Sydney in September.
The GC Marathon is coming up and you’re running as a Lady Jane Ambassador for the Autism Charity. How have you been training — and is this your first marathon?
The run is actually this Sunday — I’m excited and nervous at the same time! This is my first ever half marathon and I’ve been training really hard while also raising awareness and funds for Autism QLD. Lady Jane Healthy Living have been wonderful, supplying me with my training schedule, supplements and eating plans.
And you’re off to the US shortly after to pursue your acting and modelling career — have you got work lined up already?
I’ll be heading to the States later this year or early next year. My manager has already lined up some work — a few big brands are keen to have me on board as the face of their labels, so there are some very exciting opportunities just around the corner!
What would you say is your greatest achievement to date?
To be honest, over the past year I’ve achieved so many goals in modelling and as an ambassador — but my greatest personal achievement would be winning Lady Rider in Equestrian at the Brisbane Royal Show last year. It’s something I’ve wanted to win ever since I was a little girl.
What sort of work are you doing at the moment?
At the moment I’m a brand ambassador and model for Lady Jane Healthy Living, Bodyography Make-Up, Amy Lea Taylor Designs and SP Tools Racing. I’m also modelling full time, presenting, and studying part time at university. Life is pretty hectic — but I love keeping busy and always pushing towards my goals!
