Earlier in the week we shared the news with you that Danny’s diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) has shaken his family and friends. And that we were hoping to raise some money for his family in this challenging time.
Sadly this morning we received the news that Danny has passed away in Hopital, surrounded by the love of his life, Melissa a statement to the Go Fund Me page read as follows….
“Dear Supporters,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of Danny’s passing. Surrounded by the love of his life, Melissa, Danny peacefully left this world, bringing an end to his courageous battle with CJD.
Despite initially being told that Danny would have months to live, this merciless disease took him from us in just a few short weeks. The suddenness of his passing has left us all reeling with shock and grief.
Now, more than ever, Melissa needs our unwavering support and love. Despite her own profound grief, the outpouring of love from this community has given her strength to face the unimaginable loss of her beloved Danny”

A close friend has organized a crowdfunding campaign to support Danny and his family during this difficult time. The campaign aims to raise $100,000 to help alleviate the financial burden associated with medical expenses, and travel costs for family visits, and ensure Melissa’s financial security as she cares for their children.
Those who knew Danny describe him as a kind and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand and spread laughter. Now, the community is uniting to return the favour.
“Danny has dedicated his life to helping others,” says the campaign description. “Whether it’s coaching kids’ sports or simply offering a listening ear, he has touched countless lives with his generosity. Now, it’s our turn to rally around him and his family.”
The campaign also highlights the challenges faced by Danny’s family. The recent move to Newport in Queensland from Victoria has left them without a permanent home in the state The campaign also holds particular importance for Danny’s children, who are currently pursuing apprenticeships and studies in Queensland.
The funds raised will not only help with immediate needs but also aim to secure the children’s future education and employment prospects in Queensland, a wish close to Danny’s heart.
“While the initial goal is set at $100,000,” says the campaign, “should we surpass this goal, we can provide Melissa with the security and stability she desperately needs for her family’s future.”
The campaign encourages donations of any amount, as well as sharing the fundraiser to raise awareness. Every contribution is a way to show support and love to Danny and his family as they navigate this challenging time.
