Costa Taco: Bringing their Authentic Mexican Flavours to Broadbeach

Costa Taco, the beloved Mexican restaurant, is bringing its authentic flavours to Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. Opening their third location for Costa Taco on Gold Coast Highway later this month!

A once-forgotten corner of Broadbeach is set to come alive with the vibrant flavours and colours of Mexico as Costa Taco opens its third location this August. The iconic yellow building on the corner of Gold Coast Highway and Armrick Avenue, dormant for nearly five years, will soon be bustling with life and delicious aromas, marking a significant culinary revival for the area. Costa Taco, a sensation on the Gold Coast, is bringing its authentic Mexican cuisine to Broadbeach, promising a taste experience unlike any other.

Costa Taco began its journey in October 2020, founded by brothers Matt and Nick Stanley at the Currumbin Community Markets. Their venture quickly gained a loyal following with its commitment to authentic and fresh Mexican flavours. Costa Taco evolved from pop-ups at local venues like Dust Temple and Alfred’s Apartment into established ‘fast casual’ taquerias in Palm Beach, QLD, and Byron Bay, NSW. Now, Broadbeach will be home to their largest venture yet, with a capacity twice that of its predecessors.

The Stanleys’ vision was clear from the start: to offer genuine Mexican cuisine without compromising on authenticity for the Australian palate. Inspired by their Mexican friends who noted the lack of authentic Mexican food in Australia, the brothers saw an opportunity to fill this gap. The Gold Coast’s subtropical climate and rich agricultural resources offered the perfect setting for authentic Mexican dishes. From the fertile volcanic soil of the Tweed Valley producing quality corn to local farms supplying avocados, limes, and chillies, the region’s produce complements traditional Mexican ingredients perfectly.

Nick Stanley, Co-Founder of Costa Taco, expresses the significance of the Broadbeach location, stating, “Our Broadbeach restaurant is a pivotal moment for Costa Taco. It’s about expanding our mission to bring a truly authentic Mexican experience to the Gold Coast. We’re creating a space where the energy of Mexico meets Australian beach culture. Guests can expect our commitment to quality and authenticity – from locally-sourced ingredients to traditional recipes. It’s more than just great food; it’s about creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where people can gather, share stories, and feel the genuine spirit of Mexican hospitality.”

Diners at Costa Taco Broadbeach can look forward to a menu rich in traditional Mexican street food, including Sinaloa Chicken, Beef Birria, and ‘Baja Style’ crispy fish tacos. Popular dishes like Ceviche Tostadas and Elote Street Corn will also feature prominently. The tacos, known as “quesabirria,” are a customer favourite, combining queso (cheese) and birria, a traditional Mexican stew. Even the margaritas reflect Costa Taco’s dedication to authenticity, made with freshly squeezed limes and premium Mexican tequila.

Anticipation Builds for Costa Tacos Broadbeach Grand Opening

As Costa Taco prepares to open its doors in late August, excitement is building among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant will operate seven days a week, from 12 pm to 9 pm, providing ample opportunity for guests to enjoy the vibrant flavours and welcoming atmosphere Costa Taco is known for.
