The big names just keep coming with the opening of the Paradise Centres’ new dining precinct; El Camino Cantina joins the extensive line up, opening its thirteenth location with a six-week Margarita Festival called Ritapalooza.

The famous sombrero-loving tex-mex restaurant will seat 250 diners with uninterrupted beach views and a selection of twenty-four frozen Rita flavours on rotation for the six-week festival paired up with 15 limited edition wing flavours and the restaurant’s famous collection of dishes.

The colourful cantina is a mecca of flavour-packed cuisine and icy cold beverages; take up a booth and enjoy the unique vibe ablaze with neon lights, fluorescent signage and illuminated features, including skulls, crosses, cacti and lightning bolts, all while you listen to the sounds of the ocean.

Their menu is flavour-packed, fun and affordable. Quintessential Tex-Mex dishes include tacos, sizzling fajitas, burritos, buffalo wings, nachos and handmade tortillas. Weekday specials include $2 tacos every Tuesday and 10-cent wings every Wednesday.

El Camino Cantina Surfers Paradise is the only restaurant in the group to offer a breakfast menu, including fresh-squeezed juices, espresso coffee and breakfast tacos. The breakfast taco line-up includes:

  • Grilled Sirloin, Scrambled Egg, Jack Cheese, Tamarind Habanero Sauce, Shallots
  • Bacon Jam, Scrambled Egg, Smoked Cheddar, Sauteed Onion, Jalapeno, Coriander
  • Refried Black beans, Queso Fresco, Avocado, Pico de Gallo
  • Streaky Bacon, Scrambled Egg, Tomatillo Salsa, Jalapeno, Cheddar

El Camino Cantina is part of Pacific Concepts hospitality group. Pacific Concepts President Frank Tucker said the team was thrilled to be bringing its second location to the Gold Coast and to one of the country’s most iconic destinations, Surfers Paradise.

“El Camino Cantina is a fun-loving casual destination, much like Surfers Paradise itself, which makes this iconic location a natural fit for our much-loved El Camino Cantina concept,” Mr Tucker said.

“With a new 250-seat restaurant comes a large number of new jobs to the coast, and as an employer of choice, we are looking forward to taking local recruits on a journey of career progression within our hospitality group.”

El Camino Cantina will throw open the doors to a turbocharged Tex-Mex dining experience at Surfer’s Paradise on Friday, 9 September, with a fully-fledged Ritapalooza festival showcasing its famous rockstar-style Margaritas.
