EMC Announces 40 Speakers - Steve Aoki, Will Sparks, Peking Duk & More

Asia-Pacific’s Electronic Music Conference (EMC) has today announced the first round of speakers, early bird registration details and ‘Discovery’ theme for the 2014 event taking place December 2 – 4.
Having established a reputation for featuring the world’s biggest dance music artists and prominent tastemakers, this year’s conference speaker line-up is set to be the biggest yet. The first speaker announcement features over 40 speakers including some of the world’s leading talent bookers, artist managers and A&R executives and includes the first artist keynote from international superstar DJ and label boss Steve Aoki.
The first round announcement also features many of Australia’s most prominent artists such as Australia’s inthemix number 1 DJ, Will Sparks joining Peking Duk, Nina Las Vegas, Joel Fletcher, The Aston Shuffle, KLP, Samplogy, MaRLo and many more on the EMC program.
EMC’s theme in 2014 is ‘Discovery’.  The event aims to be a crucial stepping stone in connecting Australian electronic music talent with some of the world’s biggest talent buyers and A&R Executives who are coming to EMC with the goal of discovering and booking Australian talent, including:
Donnie Estopinal (Disco Donnie Presents/SFX). Arguably one of the world’s largest EDM talent buyers, Disco Donnie is considered one of the godfathers of US electronic dance music, promoting over 1,000 shows and festivals each year.
Johnny Shockey (LED Presents/Golden Voice) – Based in San Diego, LED recently announced a strategic partnership with AEG Goldenvoice, the producers of Coachella that sees Shockey booking electronic talent for the Coachella Sahara Tent.
Bobby Runway (SBE / SLS) – A legend on the Hollywood nightlife scene, Bobby is responsible for all talent buying across the huge nightlife portfolio of SBE venues in L.A. as well as the new SLS Hotel in Las Vegas.
Neil Jacbobsen (Head of A&R, Interscope Records) – Neil has previously worked on acts like Eminem and the Black Eyed Peas as well as managing will.i.am. He now manages Will Sparks, Arty, and Paris Blohm and has A&R’d number-one hits for LMFAO, Avicii, Robin Thicke, and the Black Eyed Peas.
Continuing EMC’s commitment to expanding Australian artist development into Asia, EMC will feature some of the regions leading talent bookers, including Robb Harker (Supermodified Korea), Nikhil Chinapa (Submerge India), Ben Munro (Hostess Japan), Eric Zho (A2 Live China), Pria Dewan (Feedback Asia), Iqbal Ameer & Rahul Kukreja (Livescape Asia).
Recognised as one of the world’s leading electronic music conferences, EMC will this year expand beyond just a day time industry-focused conference by introducing a night time program of showcase events called EMC Play, set to take place at key venues across Sydney’s iconic Kings Cross & Darlinghurst entertainment precinct with a full EMC Play program being announced in coming weeks.
