The Gold Coast’s newest luxury hotel is set to open on Boxing Day, and we’ve got a first look at what the $400 million dollar Dorsett Gold Coast will look like.
The first major hotel opening in Queensland since the pandemic began, the project undertaken by Star Entertainment Group and its partners from Hong Kong is undoubtedly a serious vote of confidence in the industry and the region.
Featuring a stunning poolside experience and cafe and bar, Dorsett Gold Coast forms part of The Star Gold Coast’s world-class integrated resort, which boasts some of the regions best bars and restaurants, a theatre and conference facilities with more on the way.
This is all part of The Star Gold Coast’s $2 Billion dollar masterplan that will feature four additional towers and major transformations to resort facilities on Broadbeach Island as it expands further, including a sister tower to the Dorsett.
The Gold Coast property is just the beginning of Dorsett Hospitality’s expansion into the Australian market, with hotels set for Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth soon to follow, joining the fifty-five other properties in their portfolio.
Dorsett Hospitality International President and Executive Director Winnie Chiu said, “Australia is a very attractive market for us. Looking at the last ten years pre-Covid, Australia’s tourism market has enjoyed a steady and promising growth, with international visitors increasing to 69%. Now that Australia has just announced their plan to phase out the country’s zero-Covid policy and to start living with Covid while focusing on the vaccine effort, we are also excited to welcome back travellers from Sydney and Melbourne to Dorsett Gold Coast when it opens early next year!”
Australia’s Dorsett Hotels will feature state-of-the-art technology, such as contactless check-in, to ensure COVID-safe travel and a lift designed to allow maximum fresh air into the lift lobby.
