Gold Coast Airport has Closed ahead of Cyclone Alfred

Gold Coast Airport will close from 4 PM today due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Passengers should check with airlines for travel updates.

Gold Coast Airport closed earlier today from in response to Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The decision has been made to prioritise the safety of passengers, staff, and airport infrastructure as the severe weather system approaches.

Passengers with scheduled flights will be contacted directly by their airline regarding alternative travel arrangements. The terminal building is now closed, and public access to the terminal precinct will be restricted until further notice.

For those in need of shelter, the nearest evacuation centre is located at:
Burleigh Waters Community Centre, 111 Christine Ave, Burleigh Waters.

Gold Coast Airport authorities have assured the public that they are closely monitoring weather warnings and will provide further updates as the situation develops.
