The AFL has officially postponed this Saturday’s Opening Round fixture following advice from the Queensland Government. As a result, the scheduled match at People First Stadium will no longer take place as originally planned.
The Gold Coast SUNS acknowledge that this decision may be disappointing for members and supporters, but the safety and wellbeing of fans, players, and staff remains the club’s number one priority.
At this stage, the AFL has not confirmed a new date or time for the fixture. Both clubs are currently working closely with the league to determine an appropriate rescheduling of the match. However, it has been confirmed that the game will not be played as part of the Opening Round.
While SUNS members won’t be able to cheer their team on at home this weekend, the club appreciates the continued support and understanding of its loyal fanbase. The health and safety of the local community remain paramount, and further updates will be provided as soon as details are finalised.
For the latest updates, members and supporters are encouraged to stay connected via the club’s official channels.
