Gold Coaster Revie Schulz raises $43k for WIRES with 1000 Lunges

Local legend Revie Schulz has smashed her fundraising target and challenge completing 1000 lunges with her hubby on Burleigh Beach raising funds for WIRES

Local legend Revie Schulz has smashed her fundraising target and challenge to complete 1000 lunges with her husband along Burleigh Beach to raise funds for charity WIRES in the midst of this bushfire tragedy.

“So far, it is estimated we have lost 500 million of our innocent, helpless friends. They got no evacuation warnings, they don’t understand how roads and fences work, they don’t have cars to drive them to the next city and they don’t have the voices to express their pain. We have to protect the animals that we have left. So I am asking my community to dig deep,” Revie said.

As if completing 1,000 walking lunges wasn’t a big enough challenge, Revie’s husband Clayton Schulz donned a 20-kilo weight vest, the vest is estimated to simulate the same weight as a fireman wearing all of his equipment.

The couple completed their challenge on Saturday at North Burleigh Beach with the cheering on from some locals, lifesavers and the couple’s daughter.

1000 LUNGES FOR WILDLIFE COMPLETE ? ***UPDATE WE HIT $40000 for @wireswildliferescue ?? *** who are helping the animals injured in the Australian Bushfires. I set the goal at $15K originally and we have more than doubled that! Who thinks we can reach $40K? That would just be incredible. I want to say a thank you to all of you for supporting us and contributing to the fundraiser. Whether it was the encouragement, financial donation or helping us raise awareness. For my husband, @clay_schulz what a bloody legend just jumping in, adding a weighted vest and doing them along side me. And my little crew who helped me get this done today! Thank you all! I told Jules to go ask the life savers to lunge with us, they said “nah” then we told them what it was for and out they all came and did some reps with us. It was awesome ?? Pretty keen for some food and an ice bath I think! THANK YOU for making this possible xx #wireswildliferescue #1000lunges
