Today we’re chatting with Jordyn Dicker from New South Wales, one of 30 remarkable women vying for the Miss Universe Australia 2025 crown, to be decided on August 15 at Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom.
So, why don’t you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
I am 22 years old and I’m from Sydney, New South Wales. I’m a model and a support worker for people with disabilities. In my past career, I was a fraud investigator at one of the largest banks in Australia.
More about me is that I am one of three girls and have two beautiful nephews, and I love to travel! A perfect morning for me would be to go to Pilates, go for a walk and get a matcha.
That pretty much sums me up!
What inspired you to take the leap and enter Miss Universe Australia?
What inspired me to take the leap and enter Miss Universe Australia was wanting to push myself and get out of my normal comfort zone. I wanted to create new experiences and learn more about myself in the process!
As part of the program, you had the amazing opportunity to travel to Vietnam, and stay at the beautiful Hoiana Resort. How was that experience for you?
It was better than anything I could have imagined. Hoiana Resort was beautiful, and all the staff were incredible. It was the best environment for the training and learning that we were lucky enough to receive through the Miss Universe Australia program.
What would you say was the highlight of the trip?
The highlight for me would be getting to know all the other girls from the different states. It was truly inspiring to hear all their stories and their passions.
As part of the trip, you also took part in your official swimwear shoot with Unnecessary the Label. How was that experience for you?
The swimwear shoot for me would definitely be another one of my highlights of the trip. The team were incredible to work with and I’m so grateful that I got to experience that, especially in Vietnam. Shooting in Unnecessary the Label made me feel so confident. I love it!
Your next question comes from our current Miss Universe Australia, Zoe Creed. If your younger self could see you today, not just on this stage but as a person, what do you think she’d be most proud of, and why?
I think she would be proud of my determination and self-growth. Throughout the whole experience, I learnt a lot about myself, and I feel like I grew a lot as a person. She would also be proud that I’m finally living my dream and becoming the woman that she always dreamt of being.
With everyone bringing their own unique flair to the program, what would you say sets you apart from the other contestants?
For me, my unique flair would be my sense of humour. I love to make people laugh and make light of any environment that I’m in. I would say I do love to be the class clown!
What’s something about you that people might find surprising or interesting?
That a part of me would absolutely love to go and study medicine and become a surgeon.
If you could work on any dream project, with no limits on time or resources, what would it be?
My dream project would be to start my own beauty line which would specialise in fragrances for women and men.
We have a few quick questions to wrap up the interview:
What’s a song that never fails to lift your mood?
Definitely Ribs by Lorde. I would say it’s my comfort song.
What does confidence mean to you?
Being able to feel good and beautiful in your own skin. Also, being able to reflect on the person you are and be happy with it!
If you had to swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
That’s a hard one, but I think I would choose Queen Elizabeth. The reason for that is because I think it would be incredible to see what type of life she lived from a more personal level.
What’s one thing you always have in your handbag (besides your phone)?
My Nikkia Joy Cosmetics powder! I can’t live without it!
Window or aisle seat on a flight?
Definitely aisle so if I need to go to the bathroom or get a drink or anything I’m not disturbing anyone.
