Jupiters Hotel & Casino launches ‘Points for Hope’

Today Jupiters Hotel & Casino launched their ‘Points for Hope’ fundraising initiative to aid seriously ill children and their families and show their long-standing support for the Gold Coast’s rugby league team – the Gold Coast Titans (#pointsforhope).

Every point scored by the Titans during the 2015 NRL season will see Jupiters Hotel & Casino donate $1,000 to the club’s front of jersey major partner Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland (RMH SEQ), to contribute towards the development of the charity’s new South Brisbane House and support their Family Rooms at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The Points for Hope campaign forms part of a pledge to raise $3 million to RMH SEQ by Jupiters Hotel & Casino and Treasury Casino & Hotel, supported by parent company Echo Entertainment Group Limited.

Echo Entertainment Group Managing Director Queensland Geoff Hogg said the Points for Hope initiative exemplified Jupiters Hotel & Casino’s proud history of charitable and community partnerships.

“We’re extremely proud of our local Gold Coast spirit and the programs and initiatives we have in place to support Gold Coast charities and organisations,” he said.

“As proud major partners of both the Titans and RMH SEQ, it’s great to come together to work on this vital project for regional Queenslanders, including Gold Coast families requiring lifesaving medical treatment in Brisbane.

“Let’s all rally behind the Titans and help them make 2015 a strong points scoring year for the club and the families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses in South East Queensland.”

RMH SEQ Business and Finance Manager Steve Whitehead said the organisation was extremely pleased to partner with both organisations to help support and accommodate seriously ill children and their families.

“RMH SEQ relies on corporate and community giving such as the wonderful support offered by the Titans and Jupiters Hotel & Casino,” he said.

“Jupiters’ Points for Hope initiative will go a long way towards providing a roof over the heads of many families caring for their sick child, including Gold Coast families who we welcome at our Herston or Mater Houses.

“Unfortunately in 2013 we heartbreakingly turned away over 600 families due to the lack of accommodation. The $34 million project at South Brisbane will accommodate up to 450 guests per night, doubling the capacity of the existing facilities and is due to be completed in the first half of 2016.”

Titans CEO Graham Annesley said, “We were very happy last week to announce the Titans and RMH SEQ partnership using the front of jersey space to promote the fantastic work they do in the community, but the Points for Hope initiative takes this campaign to a whole new level.”

“We congratulate another of our partners Jupiters Hotel & Casino and Echo Entertainment Group for their amazing financial support and commitment that will make a real difference to the families of sick children,” said Annesley.

“In our best year the Titans scored 554 points in the 2010 season where the club reached the preliminary final, in our leanest – 362 points and an average of 459 points per season since our inception.

“All things being equal if we have a bumper season Jupiters could be contributing more than $500,000 to RMH SEQ as part of this initiative. There’s no doubt it will provide an added incentive to our players to put more points on the board and assist RMH SEQ provide more accommodation for families caring for their sick children.”
