The Gold Coast is set to welcome a major new music event in 2026, with the World Surf League announcing a partnership with touring festival Here Comes The Sun to deliver a day of live music during the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro.

The festival will land at Queen Elizabeth Park on Saturday, May 2, marking the finale of a three-stop Australian tour that pairs championship surfing with an all-Australian music lineup.

Headlining the Gold Coast event will be Sydney sibling duo Lime Cordiale, alongside Brisbane indie rockers The Jungle Giants, with support from Young Franco, Sycco, Eliza & The Delusionals and emerging talent Mariae Cassandra. Additional artists are yet to be announced.

The partnership brings together two of Australia’s most iconic cultural exports: surfing and live music. WSL APAC President Andrew Stark said the collaboration was a natural fit.

“WSL are stoked to partner with the Here Comes the Sun Festival to combine our iconic WSL Championship Tour events in Australia with an exciting music festival experience,” Stark said. “Music and surfing have always shared an authentic fit and this partnership will continue to bring this to life at our iconic events.”

The Gold Coast show will be the third and final stop on the Here Comes The Sun touring schedule, following events at Torquay Common in Victoria on April 4 during the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach presented by Bonsoy, and at 3 Oceans Winery in Margaret River, Western Australia on April 25 during the Western Australia Margaret River Pro.

Festival director Ross Macpherson said the World Surf League had been watching the festival’s growth closely, particularly after its expansion into Victoria.

“The World Surf League had witnessed our events over the years in Margaret River, but more so when we expanded into Torquay in 2024 with Ocean Alley and Ball Park Music at the top of the bill,” Macpherson said. “Aligning with music events is a part of WSL’s goals for 2026 and beyond. Given its relationship with surfing and coastal communities, Here Comes The Sun was a natural fit.”

A Lineup Built for the Coast

The festival’s all-Australian lineup reads like a who’s who of the country’s most beloved live acts.

Lime Cordiale have established themselves as one of Australia’s most loved bands since the release of their 2017 debut album Permanent Vacation. The duo have become festival circuit regulars, landed multiple spots on the Hottest 100, and collected a handful of ARIA nominations along the way. Their second album 14 Steps To A Better You secured their first ARIA win, cementing their status as one of the country’s premier live acts. Fan favourites including “Money”, “Pedestal”, “Not That Easy” and “Robbery” have become staples of Australian summers.

The Jungle Giants bring four albums worth of indie rock anthems to the lineup. The Brisbane band have built a reputation for electrifying live performances, with tracks like “Used To Be In Love”, “Heavy Hearted” and “She’s A Riot” among the highlights of their catalogue.

Gold-selling DJ and producer Young Franco will appear fresh from a sellout UK tour and ahead of a North American run. His debut studio album It’s Franky Baby dropped to acclaim in what has been a breakout year for the artist.

Brisbane’s Sycco arrives at the festival on the back of a stellar 2025, having released her debut album Zorb and claimed the J Award for Australian Album Of The Year. The artist, who began releasing music as a child, has accumulated three EPs and over 20 singles across her career, along with nominations at the AIR, APRA, ARIA and National Indigenous Music Awards. Her trophy cabinet includes multiple Q Song Awards.

Eliza & The Delusionals, now in their tenth year as a band, bring their brand of dynamic indie rock to the stage. Built around frontwoman Eliza Klatt’s distinctive vocals, the band released their acclaimed sophomore album Make It Feel Like The Garden in 2024 and have developed a significant worldwide following.

Rounding out the announced lineup is teenage singer-songwriter Mariae Cassandra, who has already accumulated millions of plays across her catalogue. Her late-2025 single “Maybe It All Works Out In The End” showcases what organisers describe as one of the most promising emerging talents in Australia.
