Liz Cantor marries Ryan Lysaught in stunning Bali ceremony

Channel 7 TV presenter Liz Cantor married her sweetheart, Ryan Lysaught, in a picturesque setting in Jimbaran, Bali, on Friday evening, 16th October 2015. The ceremony took place at SKY at AYANA, with the reception held at AYANA Resort’s clifftop lawns for 50 of the couple’s closest family and friends.

Since their engagement 11 months prior, Liz knew she wanted a destination wedding that would feel like a holiday for all their loved ones, with a special celebration thrown in, far from her everyday busy lifestyle.

“I wanted the moment I said my vows to be intimate, special, and shared only with our closest friends and family.”

Liz expected choosing a wedding dress to be the hardest part of the planning but quickly fell in love with a Berta Bridal dress from the South Sydney boutique, Brides By Francesca.

“From the moment I met Francesca, it was a breeze and so enjoyable,” said Liz. “Her warmth and knowledge of couture bridal fashion made me put 100% trust in her advice, so I was comfortable, confident, and happy – which every bride wants to be!”

Liz had wedding planner Lee Calleja Thomas from Queensland-based Dream Destination Weddings plan her special day.

“My laid-back approach is not the best way to make a wedding happen, so I definitely needed help, and they were quite simply amazing.”

Liz said the highlight of her day was the first dance with her new husband, to INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart,” which then transitioned into the Dirty Dancing favorite, “The Time of My Life”… and yes, they nailed the lift!

The lowlight was that Ryan’s best friend and groomsman, Brett Bullock, couldn’t make the wedding as he received a phone call from the PA Hospital the Saturday night prior, informing him of an organ match. Brett had been on an organ donor list for just over two years.

“There were plenty of tears, but that news was a far greater gift to us than Brett’s presence at the wedding,” said Liz.
