Magic Millions Remaining Races Postponed After Wet Weather Delays
The highly anticipated The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions race-day has hit yet another roadblock, as persistent rain forced organisers to postpone the remainder of today’s events. After the first three races went ahead under challenging conditions, the decision was made to transfer the remaining races to Aquis Park this Friday evening.
This latest setback comes after what has already been a tumultuous lead-up to the event. Earlier in the season, organisers faced significant challenges when parts of the turf were deliberately poisoned, threatening the racing carnival’s very viability. Despite those obstacles, the races were salvaged, and the event managed to kick off as planned—only for Mother Nature to intervene.
The downpour made track conditions unsuitable for continued racing, prompting officials to prioritise safety for both jockeys and horses. Friday’s evening event at Aquis Park will now host the remaining races, ensuring the much-loved carnival can continue.
