Marcos Ambrose to Race Car Number 66 for DJR in Sydney

th V8 Supercar Championship round start for Marcos at Sydney Olympic Park. The number also importantly recognises one of Team Penske’s great drivers, Mark Donohue, who carried the number to numerous wins including Roger Penske’s first Indianapolis 500 win in 1972. Ambrose returns to the V8 Supercars Championship for the final event of 2014 in preparation for his full time return to the 2015 series, beginning at the Clipsal 500 in February. The No. 17 made famous by Dick Johnson will be Ambrose’s official racing number once he joins the Championship. “I have a few races to go to finish off my NASCAR career but then I am jumping straight on the plane to get some testing and track time with the DJR Falcon prior to Sydney. I have been knocked out by the interest this has generated and the response from the fans has been terrific. Sydney is going to be a tough re entry but I can’t wait.” Ambrose said from the Texas Motor Speedway in the USA. Further details of livery and sponsors for the Sydney NRMA 500 will be announced by DJR in the coming weeks.
