Australian stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will return home for the Opening Night Celebration of Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights at Sydney’s State Theatre on Thursday, February 12.
The event marks the grand finale of a global tour that will take the film and its stars to Los Angeles, Paris, London and other cities before landing in Sydney.
Warner Bros. Pictures announced the homecoming celebration for the two actors, both of whom have earned international recognition. Robbie is an Academy Award and BAFTA nominee, while Elordi has received a BAFTA nomination.
Wuthering Heights, based on Emily BrontĂ«’s classic novel, is written, directed and produced by Academy Award and BAFTA winner Emerald Fennell. The film is described as a bold and original take on the source material, presenting an epic romance that explores the intoxicating and forbidden passion between Cathy, played by Robbie, and Heathcliff, played by Elordi.
Warner Bros. Pictures describes the story as a sweeping tale of love, lust and madness.
Robbie takes on a dual role in the production, both starring in and producing the film. She brings Fennell’s creative vision to life under her acclaimed LuckyChap banner.
Also joining Robbie and Elordi at the Sydney event will be Josey McNamara, a producer with LuckyChap who is an Oscar nominee and BAFTA award winner.
The film will release in Australian cinemas on February 12, timed for Valentine’s Day. Warner Bros. Pictures is positioning Wuthering Heights as the ultimate romantic cinematic experience.
The production has generated significant anticipation, with Warner Bros. Pictures describing it as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
