Matt Payne has taken a storming victory at Saturday’s NTI Townsville 500. After taking the championship lead yesterday, Payne romped to victory by over 10 seconds, marking his third win of the 2026 season. The reigning Repco Bathurst 1000 winner now holds a 61-point advantage over Broc Feeney in the standings.
De Pasquale and Kostecki Complete the Podium Anton De Pasquale charged through the field during the middle stint of the race, climbing from 11th on the grid to finish second. Pole sitter Brodie Kostecki completed the podium in third place. Tickford teammates Cam Waters and Thomas Randle followed closely, rounding out the top five.
Brown and Feeney Recover in 200-Kilometre Clash After qualifying outside the top 10 for the second consecutive day, Will Brown recovered from 12th position to cross the line in sixth. Meanwhile, stablemate Broc Feeney successfully climbed from 17th to eighth in the 200-kilometre race.
Weekend Schedule and Entertainment On-track action resumes on Sunday with Boost Mobile Qualifying at 11:25 a.m. AEST, followed by a final 200-kilometre race at 3:05 p.m. Live television coverage of the street racing is available on Fox Sports and Kayo SPORTS, alongside free-to-air coverage on Seven and 7plus.
