Miss Universe Australia – Finalist interview Felicia Kendrick of WA

Congratulations on making it so far in the coveted Miss Universe Australia competition tell us a little about yourself …!
Who inspires you most ….?
I would have to say my mum is the most inspiring woman I know. She is an influential figure in my life and is always there to support me no matter what. Her optimistic outlook on life is infectious and she is a joy to be around. I don’t know what I would do without her!

What do you do for a living ….?
I work full time at North City Holden where I do administration. It’s a fun and energetic environment, which makes work enjoyable.

Speaking of Work Where is your favourite place to kick up your heals after a hard day of work …?
One of my favourite places to go on a Friday night would be the Library nightclub or Lost Society. They always play my favourite music and it’s always a great start to my weekend.

And what does your ideal day of rest and relaxation entail …?
Including your favourite chill out music …?
My relaxation time is when I’m at home spending time with my family and friends. Sitting around the kitchen table after dinner is always fun and an entertaining part of my night and I always appreciate the time I spend with the people most important to me.

And how would you say your work if at all has prepared you for the Miss Universe Australia Competition…?
Different roles and responsibilities in my workplace have given me more experience and confidence in dealing with people and building rapport. This has been helpful at all Miss Universe events as well as everyday life.

What is something people might find interesting about yourself..?
For as long as I can remember I have been going to speedway with my family to support my dad’s Sprintcar team which my brother races for.  Not the typical interest of a girly girl but I love to watch the races and join in on the excitement.

How would you describe your personal Style…?
Colourlful, classy, bold.
I Love to accessorise with lots of jewellery and wear bright colours and prints. My outfits are always matching and my shoes are the most important part.

Talking of style who is your favourite designer or brand …?
I love the brand Seduce. Their colours and prints are amazing and are exactly what I love to wear. They have such elegant and feminine clothes and I never have a problem finding something I love in the store.

And what does your beauty & fitness regime consist of …?
Skin care is very important. I cleanse, tone and moisturise to look after my skin and keep it looking fresh and vibrant. I exercise 3 times a week with my personal trainer and also do boxing and group fitness classes. I definitely believe that having a well- balanced nutritious diet is vital to leading a healthy lifestyle. I really enjoy eating healthy food and giving my body the right nutrients it needs so I can be fit and healthy and live life to the fullest.

Where do you see the Miss Universe Journey taking you …?
The whole experience so far with Miss Universe WA has been incredible. I would love to further my experiences and become a role model for others by promoting a healthy lifestyle and body image. I would also love to be able to use the knowledge I have gained from the journey to help others in a positive manner to create awareness for physical and mental health issues.
To be able to provide support and be an encouraging influence to others would be a great achievement.

We all have a favourite saying or personal mantra what would you say is yours..?
I would have to say my two favourites – Laughter is the best medicine, and everything happens for a reason. I’m a big believer in always finding the positives in all of life’s experiences and learning and growing as a person from every challenge we face.

And what are the five things in your life you just can’t live without …?
My family, friends, shoes, summer and laughter!
