Miss Universe Australia - Finalist interview Stephanie Wake of WA

Congratulations on making it so far in the coveted Miss Universe Australia competition tell us a little about yourself …!
Who inspires you most ….?
My dad is my inspiration. In recent years he has survived cancer, a major car accident and three heart attacks. He inspires me to be strong, to love life and appreciate everything.
What do you do for a living ….?
I’m a Psychology graduate working as an Image Stylist at an image, style and career consulting firm in Perth. As an Image stylist I’ve not only had the pleasure of styling wardrobes but working with people to discover and communicate what makes them unique through identifying authentic personal brands. A big part of what I do is also running workshops with young adults on self-confidence, personal branding and professional presentation.
Speaking of Work Where is your favourite place to kick up your heals after a hard day of work …?
There is no place like home after a long day at work. I like to get into my trackies and cuddle up with my puppy.
And what does your ideal day of rest and relaxation entail …?
Including your favourite chill out music …?
My favourite way to relax is to take my sketchbook and pencils to a coffee shop overlooking the ocean. I sit there for hours drinking coffee and sketching.
My favourite music to chill out to is anything and everything by The XX.
And how would you say your work if at all has prepared you for the Miss Universe Australia Competition…?
My work has definitely prepared me for the competition. I’ve been coached and trained personally by my boss Natasha Di Ciano in personal branding, styling, business etiquette as well as social and dining etiquette. Having a Psychology background too has also helped because I’ve developed greater self-awareness and self-confidence.
What is something people might find interesting about yourself..?
I’m insanely good at Chinese Checkers.
How would you describe your personal Style…?
Edgy and sexy with a touch of glamour.
Talking of style who is your favourite designer or brand …?
I have to name a few favourites! I love Manning Cartell, Yeojin Bae and WA designers Steph Audino and Ruth Tarvydas.
And what does your beauty & fitness regime consist of …?
I think it’s very important to look after your skin. I do this by eating a healthy diet and keeping hydrated. I can see that it makes my skin glow. I also avoid sunbaking and always wear sunscreen when I’m outside to protect my skin.
When it comes to exercise, I go for long walks and do intense workouts at the gym with a trainer. I’ve been lucky enough to do training sessions with Renae Wauhop who is a fitness trainer and the 2010 Miss Universe Australia Runner Up.
Where do you see the Miss Universe Journey taking you …?
I have huge dreams and I’m excited about the different opportunities that could come from this journey. I would love to represent Australia internationally at the Miss Universe competition so that’s my focus right now.
We all have a favourite saying or personal mantra what would you say is yours..?
“Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon!”
And what are the five things in your life you just can’t live without …?
Family, friends, my puppy, a sketchpad and pencils.
