Well, Autumn is in full swing, and It’s also that time of year when the search to find Miss Universe Australia is well underway with state finalists being announced across the country.
So we thought it would be a perfect time to kick off some home state interviews with Hannah Park. Congratulations on making it through to the state finals, why don’t you tell us about yourself?
I have been described as a dynamic human. I am one of these people that enjoys trying everything at least once. I challenge myself on a daily basis and strive to understand the story behind every person I meet.
I have a diverse background with a degree in science I am now studying my masters at UQ in Marketing. I am a published researcher when I worked with a health Not for Profit, I started my own events business last year, and I run a family owned café in Brisbane.
We all have motivations, Mine usually revolves around coffee but what was your key motivation for entering the MUA competition?
To do something different. To not stand by the status quo. I strive to create a life full of adventure and say yes to opportunities as they present themselves. The only way to make a real difference to others is to first become your own role model.
I refuse to lead an ordinary life, so I take steps like this to ensure it remains extraordinary
What part of the Miss Universe Australia program are you most looking forward to?
The show! There is nothing more thrilling than waiting backstage with your friends. It is the best feeling knowing you have given everything to the audience and the judges, even if it means you don’t make it through to Nationals. It is not a feeling I can describe, but for me, it’s facing a challenge head on and succeeding. MUA to me is probably similar to bungee jumping for other people.
With the state finals, less than a fortnight away, has your routine changed at all?
There is no ordinary day in the life of Hannah Park, but the routine definitely has taken a head spin with the show looming. We are all working very hard at the gym with the knowledge that we have to show off our hard work in a just a few weeks.
What is something that you hope to bring out of the Miss Universe Australia pageant?
A group of strong ambitious women to be in my circle. Over the years, I have learnt how important the people around you are to the person you become. I am looking forward to continuing relationships with women to share ideas, inspirations and powerful conversations with.
We will wrap up with a few irrelevant and random questions, now that my coffee has worn off.
Name five things you can’t live without?
1. My MUM! Obviously wouldn’t be alive at all without her.. but honestly she is one of the most challenging things in my life, but every challenge she puts on me makes me a better person.
2. Healthy fresh food. I value my health and love my food.
3. Sunshine and the Ocean. This is my happy place, I am grounded by being in nature and the beach always reminds me of who I am.
4. My friends, they keep me humble, make me laugh and are always there to share the good times.
“pop-teasers” – pop corn and Maltese’s is my favourite guilty treat and basically the only reason I ever go to the movies.
How long does it take you to scroll through Facebook before giving up?
Approx 60 seconds, long enough for me to realise I am not doing anything productive and stop it
How would your closest friend describe you?
Ambitious, Kind, A bit of a dork
When You Dance, You look like?
Ambitious, Kind, A bit of a dork
Finally, and this one is important, so please pay attention… What do you think pets dream about?
I think they dream like people. Of the things that are important to them, their family, their homes, and the things that make them happy. How cute is it when animals dream… little Munchkins
