Mollie White - Miss Universe Australia 2025 Finalist Interview

Today we’re chatting with Mollie White from Western Australia, one of 30 remarkable women vying for the Miss Universe Australia 2025 crown

Today we’re chatting with Mollie White from Western Australia, one of 30 remarkable women vying for the Miss Universe Australia 2025 crown, to be decided on August 15 at Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom.

So, why don’t you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I am a full-time content creator for my personal social media, where I mainly post lifestyle content. On the side, I do social media marketing for the company Forest Fresh Honey. I love keeping active by going to the gym and playing golf, and I’m a sucker for the beach, especially the sunsets!

What inspired you to take the leap and enter Miss Universe Australia?

I love a good competition but also love all the components that go into becoming Miss Australia, so being able to have a shot at something that combines a lot of my passions, I had to take that leap. I think I would’ve entered sooner, but I’m glad I waited. This gave me the chance to learn how to not compare myself to others. Especially in a competition like MUA, this was important to keep me in my own headspace and know I was doing it for me.

As part of the program, you had the amazing opportunity to travel to Vietnam, and stay at the beautiful Hoiana Resort. How was that experience for you?

This was an absolutely incredible experience, the resort was breathtaking and everyone was lovely. I’m dreaming of going back there one day, as words can’t describe how amazing it was, a trip to remember!

What would you say was the highlight of the trip?

Meeting the children at Hearing and Beyond was the highlight, no doubt about it. Seeing how they were lit up with such joy and teaching us sign language was so moving, as well as seeing them have each other and cracking jokes. It easily put a smile on my face for the rest of the trip.

As part of the trip, you also took part in your official swimwear shoot with Unnecessary the Label. How was that experience for you?

I loved the swim shoot! Seeing Sophia’s individual vision for everyone was so cool, and I feel like she nailed mine! Getting to be in jeans in water was not on my mind, but I was obsessed. The team was also great and really supportive, which made the experience ten times better, from the start of getting hair and makeup done to then having Jarrod and Matt take the videos and pictures. Even having my own personal hype team topped it off!

Your next question comes from our current Miss Universe Australia, Zoe Creed. If your younger self could see you today, not just on this stage but as a person, what do you think she’d be most proud of, and why?

I 100% know she’d be proud of how much my confidence has grown. From being such a shy, timid young girl, scared to even get up in front of people or express my opinion in a group setting, to worrying about what people may think about me, I now just say do what you love and want. Who cares what others think? We’re all different for a reason, and this has been a part of what helped my confidence grow.

With everyone bringing their own unique flair to the program, what would you say sets you apart from the other contestants?

We’re all a beautiful group of girls chasing the same passion or dream in becoming MUA. I believe what sets us all apart is honing in on the specific things we are trying to fix or focus on, which for me is to help women understand that natural beauty will always be real and authentically you, and that our self-perceived insecurities are sometimes the very things that make us shine the most.

What’s something about you that people might find surprising or interesting?

I used to be a competitive acrobat, where I competed nationally for WA in an acrobatic gymnastics trio, and we ended up winning WA Acrobats of the Year.

If you could work on any dream project, with no limits on time or resources, what would it be?

Without a doubt my own women’s golf brand. I love designing, creating and marketing, so combining all of them into one and then having a brand that benefits many girls out there would be a big dream of mine.

We have a few quick questions to wrap up the interview:

What’s a song that never fails to lift your mood? Don’t You Want Me – The Human League.

What does confidence mean to you? Learning to love yourself for who you are and not having to change for anyone.

If you had to swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? Let me be Tiger Woods for a day just so I can see how it feels to hit a good golf shot.

What’s one thing you always have in your handbag (besides your phone)? My camera, I always have to be taking a photo of something.

Window or aisle seat on a flight? Preferably a window just so I can see the view.
