Monster Machinery Day Returns with Big Fun for All Ages

See trucks, diggers and more at Monster Machinery Day, a free Gold Coast event on 22 June 2025 at Broadwater Parklands.

The Gold Coast is about to get loud, lively and a little bit muddy – Monster Machinery Day is rolling back into town! This free, family-favourite event returns to Broadwater Parklands on Sunday 22 June 2025, promising a day packed with fun, fascination and all things that dig, scoop or beep.

Whether you’re a toddler who dreams of dump trucks or an adult still dazzled by giant machines, there’s something for everyone at this hands-on spectacular. From backhoe loaders to tipper trucks – and even a live woodchipper demo – Monster Machinery Day lets you get up close with the powerful tools that help build and shape the Gold Coast.

“It doesn’t matter if you are a young child or an adult who is a child at heart, there is something for everyone at Monster Machinery Day,” said Mayor Tom Tate. “This is your chance to get up close with the pieces of machinery that help transform and maintain the Gold Coast.”

Of course, the fan-favourite giant sand pit is back, giving little ones the ultimate digger play zone. For older kids (and grown-up kids too), Hot Wheels will be making a high-speed return with their signature brand of turbo-charged fun.

This year’s event also introduces a brand-new Disaster and Emergency Management Pop-Up. Visitors can meet local emergency services heroes, explore their equipment, and learn how to stay safe during severe weather and natural disasters. It’s a rare chance to engage with the everyday legends who work tirelessly to protect the Gold Coast community.

The event spans one kilometre across the Great and Southern Lawns, so bring your pram, scooter or anything with wheels to help tired little legs keep up with the action. And when hunger strikes, food trucks will be on hand with tasty bites and cool treats.
