Nasia Delis - Miss Universe Australia 2025 Finalist Interview

Today we’re chatting with Nasia Delis from Victoria, one of 30 remarkable women vying for the Miss Universe Australia 2025 crown

Today we’re chatting with Nasia Delis from Victoria, one of 30 remarkable women vying for the Miss Universe Australia 2025 crown, to be decided on August 15 at Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom.

So, why don’t you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I’m a Melbourne-based singer, songwriter, trained actor, and model. Classically trained in opera and contemporary voice, I studied at the University of Melbourne and currently continue my musical and industry development through Berklee online.
I also produce music that blends genres like Pop, R&B, Jazz, and Classical to tell stories that resonate. As a working actor and performer, I’ve built a career rooted in passion, creativity, and expression. Beyond the stage, I’m deeply committed to mental health advocacy and supporting causes that uplift children and young people. For me, it’s about using my voice, both artistically and personally, with purpose and authenticity.

What inspired you to take the leap and enter Miss Universe Australia?

I saw Miss Universe Australia as an opportunity to step fully into my purpose, to use my voice, heart, and platform to empower others. I’ve always believed that strength and softness can coexist, and this program celebrates women in their full complexity — being intelligent, bold, creative, and kind. That resonated deeply with me.

As part of the program, you had the amazing opportunity to travel to Vietnam, and stay at the beautiful Hoiana Resort. How was that experience for you?

The trip to Hoiana Resort in Vietnam was nothing short of transformative. The resort itself was absolutely stunning, luxurious, serene, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Every detail was so well thought out, and the staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming, which made the experience even more special. Over the course of the week, we took part in NIDA-led workshops, professional photoshoots, and meaningful charity work, all while forming genuine connections with the other National Finalists. It was the perfect blend of work and fun as well as equally inspiring, empowering, and unforgettable.

What would you say was the highlight of the trip?

The standout moment for me was visiting Hearing & Beyond, a school supported by ToyBox Australia. Spending time with children who benefit from our fundraising efforts was deeply moving. It brought home the real-world impact of this platform and reaffirmed why I’m committed to charitable advocacy.

As part of the trip, you also took part in your official swimwear shoot with Unnecessary the Label. How was that experience for you?

That shoot was an absolute dream come true. It brought to life a concept I had always wanted to do, and it was like someone was reading my mind — from the hair to the makeup to the jewellery and overall setting. The swimwear itself was divine in every detail. The team behind the shoot were incredible, so attentive, supportive, and genuinely lovely to work with. It was one of those rare moments where everything just clicked, and I felt so empowered and creatively fulfilled.

Your next question comes from our current Miss Universe Australia, Zoe Creed. If your younger self could see you today, not just on this stage but as a person, what do you think she’d be most proud of and why?

She’d be proud that I stayed true to myself, that I didn’t let fear or comparison hold me back. I think she’d be especially proud of how I’ve used my voice, pursued my dreams not just through music, but to advocate for mental health and children in need. She’d see someone who took every setback and turned it into purpose.

With everyone bringing their own unique flair to the program, what would you say sets you apart from the other contestants?

What sets me apart is the balance I bring between discipline and creativity, strength and sensitivity. I’m a trained singer, actor, and music producer in the entertainment industry, which has taught me how to be both bold in performance and grounded in purpose. My passion for mental health advocacy and helping young people has shaped the way I show up not just on stage, but in life. It’s that contrast of polished and raw, artistic and driven, that makes my path feel uniquely mine.

What’s something about you that people might find surprising or interesting?

Something people might not expect about me is that I’ve trained in kickboxing and earned my first belt. It’s a side of me that balances the elegance of performance with discipline and strength. I’ve always believed in challenging myself mentally, creatively, and physically, and stepping into that space taught me so much about focus, discipline, resilience, and inner power.

If you could work on any dream project, with no limits on time or resources, what would it be?

If I could work on any creative dream project, it would be starring in a film with a strong, empowered female lead — something bold, fun, and fierce, like a modern-day Charlie’s Angels. But I wouldn’t stop there, I’d also love to write and produce the soundtrack, blending my love for storytelling, music, and performance into one powerful creative vision.

We have a few quick questions to wrap up the interview:

What’s a song that never fails to lift your mood?
Pump Up the Jam — Technotronic.

What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence means honouring who you are when no one’s watching and not shrinking yourself when everyone is.

If you had to swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why?
Beyoncé, to feel the power of commanding a stadium and still have the grace to go home and be a mum.

What’s one thing you always have in your handbag (besides your phone)?
My Pillow Talk lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury and a mini perfume of the day. Feeling fresh and put together always gives me a little confidence boost on the go.

Window or aisle seat on a flight?
Aisle seat. I love a view, but I love being able to stretch and snack without waking someone up even more.
