Northern Queensland Surfing Series begins this weekend at Agnes Water

With a diverse demographic, competitors from ages from as young as 12-40+ years will come from as far as Mackay and Gold Coast to converge and battle for titles in their respective divisions. This year, the Surfing Queensland Triple Crown which will see the best placed open male and female longboarder’s at series end, each take home a Steve Walden Longboard courtesy of Reef to Beach Agnes Water and Global Surf Industries. The Queensland Coastline has been blessed with waves in recent weeks, courtesy of substantial cyclonic activity in the North. Event organisers anticipate forecasts that will offer conditions that will allow surfer’s to perform in great waves and raise the stakes among competitors. “They’re such fantastic events to be involved with,” said Surfing Queensland’s Event Manager, Adam Yates. “There’s such a great support from the local communities, and although there is a competitive element, they create such a fun environment to run a surfing event in,” he continued. Entries for the Agnes Water Surfing Festival close Thursday 27th of March 2014 and Thursday 3rd of April 2014 for the Yeppoon Surfing Festival.
