Franchisees Geoff and Nicole, the dynamic husband-and-wife duo behind Oporto Robina, are thrilled to extend the brand’s legendary offerings to the community. The couple, who also launched Oporto Southport in 2022, are passionate about bringing a taste of Oporto’s signature “beach, family, friends, and good food” ethos to the Gold Coast.
The Robina store officially opened its doors in November 2024, making it the 28th Oporto location in Queensland and the 210th nationally. Geoff and Nicole’s story is one of passion and perseverance, with over 20 years of hospitality experience under their belt. After relocating to the Gold Coast in 2020 with their two children, they immediately fell in love with the local lifestyle.
“We thought it would be great to open a business that reflects the Gold Coast’s way of life and really believed Oporto represents this; beach, family, friends and good food,” Geoff shared.
Their first venture, Oporto Southport, quickly became a community favourite – and now, Robina residents can look forward to the same great food and service, paired with a local, family-first approach.

Geoff and Nicole’s passion extends beyond food – they’re also dedicated to creating job opportunities and fostering growth in the community. Oporto Robina employs 20 to 30 staff members in roles ranging from entry-level positions to supervisory roles.
“Our team includes people from all over the world, as well as young locals working in their first jobs,” Nicole said. “It’s not an easy job, but the skills you learn are transferable across industries. Hospitality workers are some of the most resilient and hardest workers out there.”
This commitment to growth and development is something the couple takes seriously, ensuring their team has access to career progression opportunities while also building meaningful relationships with their customers.
“We’re thrilled that Southport embraced our Oporto restaurant, and we have really become part of the community,” Geoff explained. “We’re excited to establish the same connections in Robina.”
