QTFWA - Garden cocktails with a splash

A cocktail garden party under the stars was the perfect setting to kick off the first show in QT Fashion Week and Awards last night.
Coloured lantens, fairy lights and guests decked in the latest styles were in abundance at the Up and Coming Swimwear designers fashion show.
Long legs sauntered down the grass-covered catwalk that had guests kept in awe for the entire night.
Mimi Venker, globe trotter and fashionista from Call Me Mimi style blog said “Australian fashion is just amazing” and told us that the Gold Coast has world class style.
First on the chopping block was Shapes in the Sand Swimwear with retro patterns and some totally groovy cutouts. This brand also fly’s the flag in fashion for those looking for an Eco Friendly brand to get behind.
Another favourite was Smoking Water; their style combined mixtures of blues with a hint of chic to their swimwear that was to die for.
A highlight of the evening was watching Zingiber Swimwear by Nicola Spicer.
Her collection was inspired by her many travels and this shone through in her mexican themed prints that were a show stopper.
The lights from the many cameras taking pictures of Zingiber’s collection was almost blinding but her designs shone brighter.
Her designs captured the innovative use of mesh that ended her collection off with a bang.
“I feel so lucky to be a part of it, I love it here in the Gold Coast. I have had such an amazing response to my collection”  Nicola told GCMAG last night.
To finish the swimwear off, La Biquini presented a fabulous collection of playful girlie prints and bright colours.
Jess Marshall, fashionista, blogger and model was also spotted enjoying all that fashion has to offer saying:
“This is the second year I have come to QT Fashion Week and I have been so excited to see what swimwear is on offer this year.”
Kicking off today, Saturday 31st May at 11:00am catch the Up and Coming Designer Show and high Tea at QT Hotel Grand Ballroom followed by the Inaugural Gala Designer dinner at 6:30pm in the QT Hotel Grand Ballroom as well
