Gold Coast, Queensland, Tuesday 14th May, 2013: The 2013 Queensland Masters & Women’s Surfing Series commences this weekend (May 18th – 19th) on the Gold Coast, with over 80 of Queensland’s best male masters and female competitors vying for important ratings points to kick start their 2013 State Title campaign. The two-event, Queensland Masters & Women’s Surfing Series will take place on both the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, ultimately determining the 2013 Queensland Masters & Women’s State Champions. The series is also the exclusive qualification pathway to the 2013 Australian SurfMasters Titles, where Queensland competitors will compete for the chance to become an Australian Surfing Champion in their respective divisions. The winner of the Open Women’s division across the two-event series will also earn the right to compete in the Trials of the 2014 Association of Surfing Professionals Roxy Pro – Gold Coast. Surfing Queensland Events Manager Adam Yates is optimistic about this weekend’s conditions. “The Gold Coast has enjoyed some epic surf conditions over the past few weeks, it would be great to kick off the Masters and Women’s series with some more great waves,” said Yates.
