Michel Bourez (PYF), Nat Young (USA) and Dusty Payne (HAW) will be first to compete in Heat 8 of Round 1 and ratings leader Filipe Toledo (BRA) will face Owen Wright (AUS) and compatriot Jadson Andre (BRA) in Heat 11. Surfline, official forecasters for the World Surf League, are calling for: The SW groundswell that provided our surf on Wednesday will back down on Thursday as shorter period southerly windswell builds in conjunction unfavorable southerly wind. The southerly windswell mix fades on Friday as wind remains unfavorable and out of a SE direction. We’ll see a series of modest strength SW groundswells starting this weekend, which continue for much of next week.
