“We are on today and we’re going to start with Women’s Round 4 followed by Men’s Round 5,” said WSL Deputy Commissioner, Jessi Miley-Dyer. “We’re still looking at good waves today, the wind is picking up but there is still lots of opportunity and we look forward to a great day of surfing.”

11-time World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) will surf in the opening heat of Men’s Round 5 where he will take on reigning WSL Champion Gabriel Medina (BRA).

Surfline, official forecasters for the World Surf League, are calling for:

The surf will build on Tuesday as medium size SW groundswell continues and SSW windswell increases through the day. The early morning may offer a very brief period of light wind, but onshore flow will quickly pick up and become strong through the afternoon.  Good size surf will continue on Wednesday, although easing from Tuesday, with continued onshore southerly wind. Thursday will trend to primary, mid size SW groundswell as onshore wind eases. Friday and through the weekend will see the surf trend down with generally light onshore.
