The inaugural Rugby League Gold Coast Ladies in League Charity Fundraising Lunch has proven community spirit is alive and well, with $7258 raised for Gold Coast-based, nationwide domestic and family violence support charity, Friends With Dignity.

The luncheon, which was held at the Southport Yacht Club and proudly sponsored by QTOP and Howden Saggers Lawyers, was attended by 120 guests including speakers Vanessa Fowler (Chairwoman of the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation) and Tallisha Harden (QLD State of Origin Player).

Rugby League Gold Coast wanted to acknowledge the involvement that women have in the game of Rugby League, from players, volunteers, executives and mums who support their child’s passion for the great game of Rugby League.

Rugby League Gold Coast hopes to make this an annual event with the continued support of the local Gold Coast business community.

Rugby League Gold Coast is a not-for-profit organisation supporting local and regional Clubs consisting of a dedicated team of employees and volunteers, all of whom possess a great love of rugby league.

Along with officials and administrators, the Rugby League Gold Coast family encompasses all of the men, women and children who take to the field as players, spectators and volunteers. The Rugby League Gold Coast volunteer network is extraordinary and forms the backbone of the game throughout the region.

The Gold Coast Junior and Senior leagues amalgamated in 2017, resulting in all Clubs being governed by Rugby League Gold Coast under the jurisdiction of a Board of Directors.

Participation levels continue to rise with a 5.78% increase in participation numbers across both Junior and Senior competitions in season 2018.

Rugby League Gold Coast is also committed to supporting all levels of rugby league for both males and females as the organisation strives for continued growth and development of rugby league on the Gold Coast into the future.
