Sally Pearson confirms withdrawal from Home Games

The 31-year-old was tipped to be the ultimate golden story of our home games the fairytale we all wanted to see.  But sadly Sally Pearson has just announced in a press conference with Team Doctor Paul Blackman that she will be withdrawing from the Gold Coast event due to injury. “It’s very gutting, there were tears, a lot of tears flowing. There was a numb phase and a crying phase.” Pearson, the captain of the Australian athletics team and face of our home games has had to pull out after not being able to recover from an Achilles injury, she recently said she was feeling at about 90% and we’d all hoped she would make a full recovery in time. But sadly this is not the case. She will remain in her Captain role and support the team as best as she can.  ]]>
