Great news, the return of Scrubs is officially on the horizon, and ABC [USA] has finally dropped the key details we’ve been waiting for, including the US premiere date and a glimpse of our favorite dynamic duo.
The crew will return to Sacred Heart with back-to-back episodes for the season premiere on Wednesday, the 25th of February 2026, with no word yet on the Australian release dates. We are still waiting to see if it will roll out on Disney+ with a similar premiere or if we have to hold off for a further release date.
While we don’t have a full trailer yet, ABC did release an official “first look” photo of Zach Braff (Dr. John Dorian, or J.D.) and Donald Faison (Dr. Christopher Turk) back in action. And what are they doing? They appear to be channeling their famous “eagle” bit! The sight of them reuniting is enough to make any long-time viewer cheer.
The best part about this revival is seeing the fan-favorite ensemble reassemble. Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid) have all officially signed deals to return and reprise their roles.
We also know that the halls of Sacred Heart will feel familiar, even if some faces are recurring. Judy Reyesis confirmed to return as Carla Espinosa, Turk’s wife and the nurse who kept everyone in line, serving in a recurring guest star capacity. And, of course, you can’t have Sacred Heart without Dr. Cox; John C. McGinley will also reprise his recurring guest-star role. Fans previously got a taste of the reunion when ABC unveiled a photo of the original stars and creator Bill Lawrence gathered for the table read. Adding to the chaos, Robert Maschio (Todd) and Phill Lewis (Hooch) are also slated to return.
Creator Bill Lawrence is back at the helm, and the revival focuses on J.D. and Turk as they scrub in together “for the first time in a long time”. The world of medicine and the new crop of interns might have changed, but luckily, their iconic bromance is guaranteed to have “continued to stand the test of time”.
Speaking of new interns, there’s a whole new class joining the ranks, played by Ava Bunn (Serena), Jacob Dudman (Asher), David Gridley (Blake), Layla Mohammadi (Amara), and Amanda Morrow (Dashana). Plus, Vanessa Bayer joins the team as Sibby, who runs a wellness program for the staff, alongside Joel Kim Booster as Dr. Eric Park.
Expect the revival to navigate the day-to-day at Sacred Heart with the franchise’s signature mix of laughter, heart, and a few surprises along the way. It seems like it’s going to be a perfect prescription for 2026 viewing!
