ICONIC Gold Coast superclub Shooters will soon be back in business after closing in late June, with the city’s longest-standing nightclub, located in The Mark precinct, announcing it will reopen its doors in Surfers Paradise later this month.
The venue’s new European-based owners have installed fresh management and staff and appointed a new security firm ahead of the superclub’s anticipated reopening on Friday, September 23.
The new sports bar – B·Hive – which replaces the former Malt and Hops front bar, will open to the public today, with the rest of the club to be revealed at the reopening event.
The Mark building property manager, Trevor Park, said the decision to revive Shooters was driven by its status as the city’s largest and longest-running nightclub and his belief in its future.
“Shooters is a Surfers Paradise institution and we couldn’t stand by and let the Gold Coast lose its only superclub,” Mr Park said.
“As the venue’s landlord for some years, I knew what was at stake for the Gold Coast’s nightlife scene, so I made the commitment to ensure that Shooters remained open.”
Shooters’ new general manager, Wayne Towie, who has 20 years’ management experience, said aside from the reworked front bar, the venue was keeping its main bar with DJ entertainment and the popular R&B room.
“Guests will notice a whole new attitude – it will be a very friendly environment and everyone will be treated as a VIP guest,” Mr Towie said.
“Our central platform is customer service, offering a fun and safe environment where people can party and have a great night out.”
Mr Towie said B·Hive would open from 11am seven days a week and incorporate a licensed bottle shop.
Patrons will enjoy delicious bar food, watch the whole gamut of sport on multiple TV screens and have access to a gaming area which will include Xbox consoles. The sports bar will also have a large area that can be hired for parties.
“We are catering for everyone and it will be the ideal place to start the evening before you head into Shooters Main Room or Republic,” Mr Towie said.
Once open, Shooters Nightclub will operate each Thursday to Sunday night until 3am while B·Hive will open at 11am and close by 3am seven days a week.
