The holiday season just got a whole lot sweeter on the Gold Coast. QT Gold Coast, known for its designer flair and quirky experiences, is bringing back its much-loved Christmas candy emporium, QT Gingerland – and this time, it’s bigger, better, and more delicious than ever. For the first time, the festive experience will also feature the Gingerland QTea High Tea, a decadent Christmas-themed indulgence available for a limited time.
From Friday, 22 November to 31 December, QT Gingerland will transform the hotel’s lobby into a sugary spectacle straight out of a fairytale. Think of it as a Willy Wonka-esque playground with a holiday twist, crafted from over 900 handmade gingerbread bricks, 300 kilograms of royal icing, and enough colourful FUNDAY candy to make every sweet tooth swoon.
QT Gingerland: A Magical Candy-Covered Wonderland
This year’s QT Gingerland promises to be double the size and twice the magic. From the floor to the ceiling, the emporium has been meticulously curated to immerse visitors in an edible world of holiday cheer. For those with a taste for nostalgia, QT Gold Coast Gingerland offers a treasure trove of Christmas classics, including plum pudding, nougat, shortbread cookies, mince pies, traditional white Christmas, and gingerbread treats galore. Keep an eye out for gingerbread people “roaming” on rocky road – a playful touch to this already whimsical setup.
QT Gold Coast’s signature attention to detail is evident in every corner of the experience. It’s not just about the treats – it’s about creating a space that celebrates the magic of Christmas with a hint of designer drama.
Gingerland QTea High Tea: Sweet, Savoury, and Stylish
If the candy emporium isn’t enough to satisfy your festive cravings, the new Gingerland QTea High Tea promises to take indulgence to the next level. Held daily from 10 am to 2 pm at FIXX Café, the high tea combines the best of savoury and sweet in signature QT style.
On the savoury side, guests can enjoy imaginative bites like Christmas “bauble” arancini and Meredith goat’s cheese-filled Santa hats with black truffle. On the sweeter end of the spectrum, there’s white chocolate and lemon curd QT snowmen, classic gingerbread men, and more sugary delights that make the perfect Instagram moment.
It’s a high tea experience that feels as festive as it tastes, ideal for a girls’ day out, a family celebration, or a quirky holiday date. And with QT’s talented chefs dreaming up the menu, you know you’re in for a treat.
The Mastermind Behind the Magic
At the heart of this sweet spectacle is QT Gold Coast Executive Pastry Chef and QHA Chef of the Year award winner, Daniel King. Known for his creative flair and larger-than-life dessert creations, King has doubled the number of gingerbread bricks for this year’s QT Gingerland and added his signature whimsical touch to the new high tea experience.
“This year, we have doubled the number of gingerbread bricks in the edible emporium, and we are spreading the festive cheer with our very first QT high tea takeover, reimagined in our signature QT quirk with all the trimmings,” says King. His attention to detail ensures that QT Gingerland is not only a feast for the tastebuds but also a feast for the eyes.
The QT Gingerland experience, including the QTea High Tea, is available only for a limited time – so if you’re looking to add a little magic to your Christmas season, don’t wait too long. QT Gingerland is open daily from 22 November to 31 December, while the Gingerland QTea High Tea can be enjoyed from 10 am to 2 pm each day at FIXX Café.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, QT Gold Coast’s festive offerings are a must-see (and must-taste) this season. From the intricate design of the candy emporium to the indulgent bites of the high tea, this is one Christmas experience you won’t want to miss.
