Seven-time Virgin Australia Supercars Champion Jamie Whincup and his Red Bull Holden teammate Shane van Gisbergen caught up with media in the city after being temporarily isolated in Darwin last week.

Whincup is a six-time race winner in Darwin, two behind all-time leader Mark Skaife who recorded eight victories at Hidden Valley.

Van Gisbergen will celebrate his 400th career race on Saturday, becoming just the 19th driver in history to reach that mark.

The pair were among those who were temporarily isolated in Darwin last week before the NT Chief Health Officer revoked a hotspot of Brisbane and Surrounding areas on Friday which saw teams isolated ahead of this weekends event.

The BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown will be broadcast live on Ten, Fox Sports and streaming on Kayo.
